Bro. Stewart J. Quigley Provincial Grand Master

Welcome to the official website of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross. The first Provincial Grand Master Alexander Melville of Balgarvie, was commissioned in 1745 and I am privileged to be the seventeenth.

The Province contains 49 Lodges, 48 in the Kingdom of Fife and 1 in the county of Kinross-shire. Our aim is to provide information about the Masonic activities within the Province, which are of interest to both Masons and non-Masons alike. Please enjoy your visit and we hope you will come back again soon.

As an encouragement to our new members we organised a walk through degree last year which hopefully helped in understanding the ceremony of initiation. We are now in the process of organising a walk through of the second degree, which hopefully will be available shortly to give a further understanding of the Fellow Craft Degree.

The "Dementia Awareness Project" is also progressing well. A number of Lodges have participated and the feedback received is positive. We will continue to roll this out to all Lodges as time goes on.

The Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross will celebrate 275 years in existence in 2020 and we have set up a small subcommittee who are currently busy organising events to celebrate this milestone in the history of the Provincial Grand Lodge. Details of forth coming events will be sent to the Lodge Secretaries in due course. The first event was a Speakers Evening held within Crossgates Community Centre on Friday 10th May. Speakers were the Grand Master Mason and the First Grand Principal of Scotland who is also a Past Grand Master Mason. The evening went very well and I would like to thank all who came along and supported us that evening. The next event a cabaret evening held within Templehall Community Centre Kirkcaldy on Saturday 5th October 2019 went equally well.

Thanks to all who attended the Christmas Carol Service in December 2019.

The Grand Master Mason has given his approval for a membership survey to take place throughout the Scottish Constitution.

This is the first ever membership survey undertaken by the Grand Lodge of Scotland and your participation in this survey will help inform the strategic thinking of Grand Lodge to shape our organisation for the future. The survey has been designed for ease of access, and should take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.

Please be assured that the survey is entirely anonymous, and respondents are encouraged to be open and honest with their answers. Grand Lodge is seeking to pool the collective insight and experience of our global membership, and the ultimate value of the survey output will directly correlate to the candour of your responses.

The survey can be accessed using the following link:

The survey is now live and will be open until the end of April. Grand Lodge shall collate the results and produce a report which they hope to share in the autumn. Should you have any questions during the period the survey is live, please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
