Important Notice 16 March 2020

Following consultation between the Provincial Grand Master and his Commissioned Office-bearers, recognising the fact that many Lodges have been proactive in the cancelling of meetings, taking cognisance of the advice issued by governments, noting the demographic of our membership and employing an awareness of the projected spread and subsequent effects of the Coronavirus, the Provincial Grand Master is instructing that all Lodge meetings are cancelled with immediate effect and for the foreseeable future.
This decision will be reviewed in due course.
I am sure that you will understand the reason for this and thank you for your support in implementing it.
In view of the foregoing it will no longer be necessary for Lodges to apply for a Dispensation to abandon meetings.

17 March 2020

In light of the current circumstances and taking into cognisance the content of today’s letter from the Grand Master Mason, the following points should be noted for your information and that of the Brethren of your Lodge.

1. The Statutory Communication of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross due to take place on Saturday, 25th April 2020, has been cancelled.

2. The Annual Books Inspections due to take place in May 2020 have been cancelled. Alternative arrangements will be made in due course and Lodges will be informed accordingly.

3. With reference to the Grand Master Mason’s guidance, it is hoped that the 275th Anniversary Rededication Meeting will go ahead but alternative arrangements may have to be made.

4. Lodges are reminded that they should continue to conduct their business as far as possible and should consider the use of email, social media etc as a means of communicating with Brethren.

The Provincial Grand Master, Brother Stewart Quigley, extends his thanks to you all in anticipation of your patience and cooperation while these and other matters are being addressed.

Further updates will follow.

Unfortunately, the charity abseil down the Forth Bridge in aid of Prostate Scotland, which was to be undertaken by Brother Stewart Quigley, Provincial Grand Master, on 10th May 2020, has been cancelled.

For several reasons, it is unlikely that this event will be rescheduled this year.

In view of this, the Provincial Grand Master has asked that Lodges/Brethren hold off from making donations.

Brethren who have already donated to Brother Quigley’s “Just Giving” page will be contacted by him to ascertain what to do with their donation(s).
