Installation of Office bearers

Invitation to attend
On Saturday 20th April 2024 at 4pm.

Installation of the Master elect Gerard O Donnell
Wardens & Office Bearers for 2024/2025

Brother John Belton will present Alexander Deuchar: The Brother who defined the higher degrees in Scotland.

It was Lodge Perth & Scoon that brought the Templars and Chapter to Lodge St. Stephens in Edinburgh in 1778. The story relates how a warrant from the Early Grand Encampment of Ireland No.31 became the Grand Conclave of Scotland and later also produced the Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter.

An amazing story of the vision and determination of one brother who seized every opportunity to shape the freemasonry of Scotland that we know today. And he even managed compliance with the Unlawful Societies Act of 17981.

The paper is drawn from the forthcoming book ‘Exploring the Vault: the masonic higher degrees 1730-1800’ by John Belton & Roger Dachez, publication due June 2024.

The talk will be delivered to help celebrate the Installation of Brother Gerard O’Donnell into the chair of The Lodge, Hope of Kurrachee No 337 on Saturday 20th April. The Lodge will tyle for business at 4pm and then called off, the talk will be delivered starting at 4.15pm, and the lodge called on again for the Installation at 5pm.
