Lodge Earl Haig No.1260

Lodge Earl Haig No.1260 worked a joint 2nd degree with Elgin’s Lodge at Leven No.91 on Wednesday 14th November 2018. After the degree work a solemn Armistice service was conducted. Attend By The Depute Grand Master Mason Bro. Ewan Rutherford and Grand secretary Bro. J. Euan Edment. The Provincial Grand Master Bro. Stewart Quigley and a deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross and many visitors.

A few presentations were made on the night. The P.G.M presented a cheque To Bro. Gordon Michie for Poppy Scotland for the 1918 appeal. The R.W.M Bro. John Heron Presented The P.G.M with a gavel and Bro. Andrew Wishart presented the Master with a copy of the Volume of the Sacred Law within a presentation box made by Bro. Alex Whitehill Provincial Grand Chaplain, the wood coming from an old Pugh from Dysart Kirk.

Bro. Gordon Michie Past Master commented "Huge personal thank you to all that attended Lodge Earl Haig for our joint second degree with Elgin’s Lodge at Leven and our service of Remembrance and Tribute to Bro Field Marshal Earl Haig.

In particular to the following brethren who took part to support the joint team of Office-bearers: Darren Empson Bugle, Jim Aitken - organ, David Shand - soloist, Bob Ross - piper, Gareth Kirkwood - candidate. Alan McPhail from the Widows Sons for his poem.

The support from PGL and the Grand Lodge of Scotland in the person of Ewan Rutherford and J Euan Edment supported by our own Colin Davie was also extra special on this historical night for our Lodge.

A wonderful way to end a month or so of Armistice 100 commemorations."
