Lodge St. John No.35 Reigning Masters Degree
Lodge St. John No.35 held their last meeting in their current premises "Liquorstane Building Falkland". A very poignant evening in the historic Royal Burgh of Falkland. The last meeting of the Lodge in Falkland prior to their move over the hill to Leslie where they will be meeting in the premises of Lodge Rothes No.532.
The speculative Masonic Lodge has met in Falkland for the last 481 years when Sir James Scrymgeour, Captain of Myres Castle and Master Mason to King James III convened a meeting in Falkland of Masons - this meeting was attended by the Masters of the Lodge of Dunfermling and Lodge St Andrew now 26 and 25 respectively.
Masonry or at least operative masonry can be traced even further back to the 1400's to the Falkland Statutes - Statutes that governed the Mason trade prior to the more famous Schaw Statutes.
To mark the occasion the Lodge held a Reigning Masters Degree when a Third or High and Sublime Degree of a Master Mason was worked.
