PGL Visitation to Lodge Wemyss No.777 20th November 2014
A Large deputation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Fife and Kinross visited Lodge Wemyss No.777 on Thursday 20th November 2014. This was the date of the official visitation to the Lodge on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and the deputation was headed by the Provincial Grand Master Bro. Rev Andrew E Paterson JP.
The deputation witnessed a very well worked Fellow Craft Degree where Bro. Neil Young was instructed in the lessons of that degree by the IPM Bro. Robert Campbell and his team of Office-Bearers.
At the conclusion of the degree Bro. Finlay Ross PM of Lodge Wemyss No.777 and founder of the Fife Masonic News Facebook Group presented the Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master Bro. Rev Andrew E Paterson JP with a cheque for the sum of £2,000.00 which is to be forwarded on to the Grand Lodge of Scotland Prostate Cancer Appeal. This sum being raised from the various badges, pennies and lapel pins being sold on Fife Masonic News.
Bro. Finlay Ross also advised the Brethren of the various charities which the Fife Masonic News Group have donated to since it's formation. Mention was also made of the funds raised for charity over the summer recess with the "Cold Water Bucket Challenge". The Provincial Grand Master praised the efforts of all concerned in these fund raising activities and accepted the challenge himself. This being carried out outside the Lodge at the close of the Meeting to the delight of all who were there to witness it.
